BISK believes that knowledge, skills, and values are the foundation for becoming an active citizen and member of the school, the community, and the diverse society in which we live. We provide our students with opportunities to succeed, and the motivation to act on them. We cultivate a lifelong passion for learning, and the skills to put it to use. We instill the values of community, diversity and inclusion today, so that students will become model leaders of Kurdistan tomorrow. By nurturing a safe, welcoming, multilingual, multicultural and professional community of learning, students earn a world-class education that prepares them to make a positive impact in the world.

Mission

The BISK mission is to convert learners of today into leaders of Kurdistan and the global community by providing an international education in a safe, secure and supportive environment that will significantly increase student achievement through the application of continuous improvement strategies. We are devoted to preparing all of our students to become caring, contributing, compassionate, productive, successful leaders of tomorrow. Our aim is to significantly increase academic achievement through strategies that continually utilise the latest research on education, making decisions based on data, and applying differentiation in instruction through ongoing professional development for staff.

Core Beliefs

At BISK, we believe that every student can learn, and every student will learn with the right individualised teaching plan that accounts for their own pace and style of learning.

We believe that every student should have equal access to reaching their potential with an educational plan to suit their needs, whatever they may be.

We believe that educational success depends on forming a strong partnership between the school and the home.

We believe learning happens in and out of the classroom.

We believe that multilingual and multicultural education prepares students to be citizens of a healthy, pluralistic, coexisting society based on mutual respect.
We believe that pride in one’s cultural identity is the foundation for personal individuality – and both are celebrated at BISK.
We believe we achieve more if we work as a team.
